Terms of Service
1. Agreement
These Terms govern The Relationship Bible (“the App”), operated under the name The Relationship Bible, Kampala, Uganda (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
You must be at least 13 and at least the local minimum digital-consent age. Where local law requires parental authorization, you may use the App only with valid authorization.
2. The service
The App provides Scripture reading, Christ-centered relationship discipleship content, plans, reflection tools, Bible Swipe, Support Circle links, a professional-support directory, and automatically generated Companion conversations.
The App is not a church, pastor, counselor, health provider, emergency service, legal adviser, or substitute for qualified professional care. Content is general Scripture study and reflection, not individualized professional advice. In immediate danger, contact local emergency services and a trusted person who can be physically present.
We may improve, add, remove, suspend, or discontinue features and do not promise that every feature, translation, provider listing, or item will always be available.
3. Companion
Companion responses are generated automatically through Anthropic’s model API and are not human-reviewed before delivery. They can be mistaken, incomplete, or inappropriate. Consider them alongside Scripture and seek faithful church leadership or qualified professional help for consequential decisions.
Messages and relevant context are handled as stated in the Privacy Policy. Crisis detection may stop a normal exchange and show human-support options. It is not monitoring, diagnosis, or guaranteed detection. You may report an inappropriate response.
Do not rely on Companion to decide whether an emergency exists, delay urgent help, prescribe or change medication, provide legal direction, or make an irreversible decision for you.
4. Accounts
Provide accurate registration information, protect your credentials, and notify us of suspected unauthorized access. Usernames must not impersonate others, violate rights, or contain abusive or unlawful material. You can permanently delete your account at Me → About → Delete account.
5. Support Circle and professional providers
Support Circle is a private account link, not messaging or a public directory. You decide whom to add and what to share outside the App.
Professional listings are informational referrals, not guarantees, endorsements, employment relationships, or promises of availability, quality, licensing, outcome, theology, or suitability. Verify current credentials and terms. Services occur outside the App under an agreement between you and the provider.
6. Acceptable use
You must not use the App unlawfully or to exploit, threaten, harass, deceive, or harm; seek sexual content involving minors or harmful instructions; access accounts, systems, or data without authorization; evade safeguards or rate limits; distribute malicious code; disrupt or bulk-scrape the App; reverse engineer except where law permits; resell content; infringe rights; or misrepresent identity.
We may investigate reports, remove content, restrict features, suspend or terminate accounts, and preserve information where reasonably necessary to protect users, comply with law, or enforce these Terms.
7. Content and licences
You retain ownership of original content you create and grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, process, transmit, reproduce, and display it only to operate, secure, and improve the App and comply with law. The licence ends on deletion, subject to backups and lawful retention.
The App, brand, software, lessons, plans, design, and original editorial content belong to us or licensors. We grant you a personal, limited, revocable, non-transferable licence for non-commercial use in the App. Scripture translations remain subject to their rights holders or applicable public-domain or open permissions.
8. Third-party services
The App relies on Supabase, Anthropic, Sentry, Bolls.life, app stores, and external provider sites. Their services may be unavailable and their own terms and privacy practices apply to interactions they control. We are not responsible for third-party services except where applicable law provides otherwise.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not guarantee Companion responses, recommendations, crisis detection, provider information, Scripture-source availability, synchronization, or any relational, spiritual, health, or other outcome. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive loss; loss of data, profits, opportunity, goodwill, or relationships; or acts of users, listed providers, or third-party services connected with the App.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability will not exceed the greater of what you paid us in the preceding 12 months or UGX 200,000. This does not apply where law prohibits limitation, including applicable liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.
11. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify us against third-party claims and reasonable costs arising from unlawful misuse, infringement of rights, or content you provide. This excludes our negligence, unlawful conduct, or breach.
12. Governing law and disputes
Before filing a claim, email us and allow 30 days for informal resolution unless urgent relief is required. Uganda law governs these Terms. Subject to mandatory consumer rights and legally required courts, competent courts in Kampala, Uganda have jurisdiction. We do not require private arbitration or waive class-action rights.
13. Changes and termination
We may update these Terms for legal, safety, security, or product reasons and will provide notice where required. If you disagree, stop using the App and delete your account. Provisions that should survive termination will survive.
14. General terms
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement about the App. If one provision is unenforceable, the remainder continues. Failure to enforce is not a waiver. You may not transfer these Terms without consent; we may transfer them in a legitimate reorganization, financing, or transfer of the App, subject to law.
