Terms of Service
1. Agreement
These Terms govern your use of The Relationship Bible (“the App”), operated under the name The Relationship Bible, Kampala, Uganda (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
You must be at least 13 and at least the minimum age required to consent to an online service in your country. If local law requires parental authorization, you may use the App only with legally valid authorization.
2. The service
The App provides Scripture reading, Christ-centered relationship discipleship content, plans, personal reflection tools, Bible Swipe, private Moments records and reminders, structured Relationship Assistant proposals, Support Circle links, a professional-support directory, automatically generated Companion conversations, and a curated Store that refers users to external physical products and in-person experiences.
The App is a reading and growth service. It is not a church, pastor, counselor, health provider, emergency service, legal adviser, or substitute for qualified professional care. Content is general Scripture study and reflection, not individualized medical, mental-health, legal, financial, or other professional advice. In immediate danger, contact local emergency services and a trusted person who can be physically present.
We may improve, add, remove, suspend, or discontinue features. We do not promise that every feature, translation, provider listing, or item of content will always be available.
3. Companion and Relationship Assistant
Companion responses and Relationship Assistant proposals are generated automatically through Anthropic’s model API and are not reviewed by a pastor, counselor, theologian, or other human before you receive them. Responses and proposals can be mistaken, incomplete, or inappropriate. Consider them alongside Scripture, correct proposals before saving them, and seek help from faithful church leaders or qualified professionals for consequential decisions.
When you use Companion, your messages and relevant contextual information are processed and stored as explained in the Privacy Policy. If crisis language is detected, the App may stop the normal exchange and show human-support options. This is a protective routing feature, not monitoring, diagnosis, or guaranteed detection. You may report an inappropriate response using the flag beneath it.
You must not rely on Companion to decide whether an emergency exists, delay urgent help, prescribe or change medication, provide legal direction, or make an irreversible decision for you.
4. Accounts
Provide accurate registration information, keep your credentials confidential, and notify us if you suspect unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity through your account to the extent allowed by law. Usernames must not impersonate others, violate rights, or contain abusive or unlawful material.
You can permanently delete your account through Me → About → Delete account. The Privacy Policy explains what deletion covers and what limited provider or legal retention may remain.
Moments is for information you deliberately choose to remember. It does not import contacts, calendars or email. You are responsible for entering only information you have a lawful and respectful reason to keep, correcting or deleting it when appropriate, and not using Moments to surveil, harass, deceive or violate another person's privacy or rights. A reminder or generated proposal is an aid to your own care and judgment, not a promise that an action is appropriate or will improve a relationship.
5. Support Circle and professional providers
Support Circle is a private account link, not a messaging service or public directory. A person must know your exact username and you must accept the request. You decide whom to add and what to share outside the App.
Professional listings are informational referrals. We seek to verify listings before publication, but a listing is not a guarantee, endorsement, employment relationship, or promise of availability, quality, licensing status, outcome, theological position, or suitability. Verify a provider’s current credentials and terms yourself. Contact and services occur outside the App and form an agreement between you and the provider, not with us.
6. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use the App unlawfully or to exploit, threaten, harass, deceive, or harm anyone;
- seek sexual content involving minors or instructions facilitating self-harm, violence, or serious wrongdoing;
- attempt unauthorized access to accounts, systems, data, or provider services;
- evade safeguards, rate limits, reporting controls, or security measures;
- upload malicious code or disrupt the App;
- scrape, copy in bulk, reverse engineer except where law expressly permits it, resell, or commercially exploit the App or its content;
- infringe intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, or other rights; or
- misrepresent your identity or affiliation.
We may investigate reports, remove content, restrict features, suspend or terminate an account, or preserve information when reasonably necessary to protect users, comply with law, or enforce these Terms. Where reasonable, we will consider the context and seriousness of a violation.
7. Store referrals and affiliate links
The Store is an editorial directory of physical products and in-person experiences or events. The Relationship Bible is not the retailer, seller, marketplace, ticketing platform, booking service, fulfilment provider, or merchant of record. Paid digital products, subscriptions, app unlocks, and virtual paid experiences are not sold through the Store.
When you follow a Store link, you leave the App. The external retailer or provider controls its catalogue, price, taxes, currency, stock or capacity, payment, delivery, booking, cancellation, refund, return, safety requirements, accessibility, and customer support. Check those details directly before committing. A listing, availability label, price direction, or last-check date is editorial information, not a guarantee or offer by us.
Some links are affiliate links. We may receive a commission if an external programme attributes a qualifying transaction to that link, at no additional charge from us to you. Affiliate eligibility never guarantees publication and does not affect editorial selection, ranking, or placement. No Store position is sold or sponsored.
Any bought, booked, given, used, attended, or outcome status you record in the App is your private statement. We do not independently confirm the external transaction or result, and a purchase or booking is not evidence that a relationship improved. A product or experience cannot replace honesty, repentance, safety, professional help, or changed behaviour.
8. Content and licences
You retain ownership of notes and other original content you create. You grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, process, transmit, reproduce, and display it only as needed to operate, secure, and improve the App and comply with law. This licence ends when the content is deleted, subject to backups and lawful retention described in the Privacy Policy.
The App, brand, software, lessons, plans, design, and original editorial content belong to us or our licensors and are protected by applicable law. We grant you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use them within the App for non-commercial purposes.
Scripture translations belong to their respective rights holders or are used under applicable public-domain or open permissions. Availability and permitted features may differ by translation. Do not use the App to redistribute Scripture text beyond what the relevant rights allow.
Feedback you voluntarily send may be used without obligation to you, but we will not publicly identify you without permission.
9. Third-party services and links
The App relies on services including Supabase, Anthropic, Sentry, the YouVersion Platform, app stores, external support-provider sites, retailers, venues, event organizers, and booking providers. Their services may be unavailable and their own terms and privacy practices apply to interactions they control. We are not responsible for third-party sites, content, transactions, fulfilment, events, or services, except where applicable law says otherwise.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not guarantee Companion responses, content recommendations, crisis detection, provider information, Scripture-source availability, data synchronization, or any relational, spiritual, health, or other outcome.
Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or right that applicable consumer law does not allow us to exclude.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive loss; loss of data, profits, opportunity, goodwill, or relationships; or acts or omissions of other users, listed providers, or third-party services arising from or connected with the App.
Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, our total aggregate liability arising from the App or these Terms will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the App in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or UGX 200,000. This limitation does not apply to fraud, wilful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence where liability cannot be limited, or any other liability that applicable law prohibits us from limiting.
12. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify us against third-party claims and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful misuse of the App, infringement of another person’s rights, or content you provide. This does not require you to indemnify us for our own negligence, unlawful conduct, or breach of these Terms.
13. Governing law and disputes
Before filing a claim, contact therelationshipbibleapp@gmail.com and allow 30 days for an informal resolution, unless urgent relief is needed. These Terms are governed by the laws of Uganda, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to mandatory consumer rights and any court that applicable law requires, the courts of competent jurisdiction in Kampala, Uganda will have jurisdiction.
If you are a consumer, this section does not remove protections or access to courts that the law of your country does not permit you to waive. We do not require private arbitration or waive class-action rights in these Terms.
14. Changes and termination
We may update these Terms for legal, safety, security, or product reasons. We will update the date above and provide notice of material changes where required. If you do not agree to revised Terms, stop using the App and delete your account.
You may stop using the App at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, dispute terms, and accrued rights—will survive.
15. General terms
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement about the App. If one provision is unenforceable, it will be limited or removed only as necessary and the remainder will continue. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer these Terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a legitimate reorganization, financing, or transfer of the App, subject to applicable law.
