Privacy Policy

Last updated and effective: 14 July 2026

1. Who we are

The Relationship Bible (“the App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a Christ-centered relationship discipleship app operated under the name The Relationship Bible, Kampala, Uganda. For privacy questions or requests, contact therelationshipbible@gmail.com. This policy covers our iOS and Android apps and related support pages.

2. Information we collect

Account and profile

We collect your email address and display name. Our authentication provider stores a protected form of your password; we do not see or store it in plain text. We generate an editable username for Support Circle requests. You may optionally provide date of birth, gender, denomination, and life seasons. We derive age from date of birth for personalization.

Reading, learning, and your content

We store saved or opened Bible references, highlights, notes, bookmarks, lesson encounters, plan enrollment and progress, Relationship Map attention, and similar journey activity. Bible verse text is not stored in our database. Chapters may be cached locally on your device. Scripture pictures are created on your device and you choose whether and where to share them.

Companion conversations

When you choose Companion, we collect your messages and generated replies. We send Anthropic the message and context needed to respond. Depending on what you provided and where Companion opened, context may include the current lesson, plan, passage or topic; life seasons; derived age; gender; denomination; explored or completed content; dimension progress; active-plan context; aggregated Bible Swipe performance; and recent messages in the current conversation.

We do not send Anthropic your name, email, username, raw date of birth, Support Circle membership, private notes, or highlights. We store Companion conversations for operation, safety, reporting, and review. Each visible session starts fresh and old conversations are not presented as cross-session memory.

Support and gameplay

We store Support Circle requests and accepted account links. There is no public username directory or username search. We do not send your profile or Companion data to listed professional providers; contact occurs outside the App. Bible Swipe stores sessions, answers, categories, XP, streak, badges, and personal bests. Aggregated performance may be used as a Companion journey signal.

Diagnostics

Sentry receives crash reports, performance traces, and diagnostics such as app version, device model, operating system, timestamps, stack traces, route context, and network information such as an IP address where received. We do not intentionally attach Companion messages, notes, highlights, passwords, or Bible selections.

3. How we use information

We use information to create and secure accounts; provide, synchronize, and personalize App features; generate Companion replies; detect possible crisis language and offer human support; review reported responses; investigate abuse, security incidents, and failures; improve reliability and safety; comply with law; and enforce our Terms.

Where required, our legal bases are performance of our agreement with you, consent for optional processing, legitimate interests in operating and protecting the App, and legal obligations.

4. Service providers and disclosure

We do not sell personal information or use it for third-party advertising.

Anthropic

Anthropic’s commercial API processes the Companion data described above. Under its published standard API practices, inputs and outputs are not used for model training without express permission and are ordinarily deleted from its backend within 30 days. Some data may be retained longer for legal, security, or usage-policy enforcement, including flagged content.

Supabase, Sentry, and Bolls.life

Supabase provides authentication, database hosting, and backend functions. Sentry processes diagnostics. Our Bible function requests a book, chapter, and translation from Bolls.life; it does not send your App account identity, although Bolls.life may receive ordinary backend request metadata.

Legal and safety

We may preserve or disclose information where reasonably necessary to comply with law or lawful process; protect users, the public, the App, or our providers; investigate abuse; or respond to risk of death or serious physical harm. The App is not continuously monitored or an emergency service.

5. Crisis detection and response reports

A device-side check may intervene before a Companion message is sent, and our server repeats the check. If crisis language is detected, normal input is hidden and Connect with Someone is shown. This changes the in-app response; it is not a diagnosis or guaranteed detection.

A Companion report links your account, selected reason, reported response, and minimum conversation context for restricted manual review. Reports are not visible to other users.

6. Storage, security, and international transfers

Providers may process data outside Uganda or your country. Where required, we rely on provider contractual safeguards or other lawful transfer mechanisms. We use encrypted transmission, protected authentication tokens, access controls, and database row-level security. No online service can promise absolute security.

7. Retention and deletion

We generally retain account and App data while your account is active. You may permanently delete it at Me → About → Delete account. This removes your authentication account and associated profile, saved content, journey and plan data, Support Circle links, gameplay data, Companion conversations, and response reports from our active database.

Deletion may not immediately remove encrypted backups, security logs, or data already held temporarily by a provider. Those copies expire under provider schedules unless law or security needs require longer preservation. We may keep limited records where legally required or needed for legal claims.

8. Your choices and rights

You may edit profile information, remove Support Circle connections, choose whether to use optional features, and delete your account. Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, portability, restriction, objection, or deletion, and complain to a data-protection authority. Email us; we may verify your identity first.

9. Children

The App is not directed to children under 13 and must not be used below the local minimum digital-consent age without legally valid parental authorization. Contact us if you believe a child provided information contrary to this section.

10. Changes

We may update this policy as the App or law changes. We will update the date and provide notice or request consent where required.
